Jr. Teen Ministry

Jr. High is an essential time in a young person’s life. Jr. High students are just beginning to grasp the concept of their identity and it is so important that they have people speaking into their lives and reminding them of the truth of who God is, and how He loves them. The youth that come to these programs are often bullied and don’t know their value as God’s dearly loved children. The goal of Jr. High ministry is to help and support the youth in their relationship with Jesus as they transition from childhood into high school. We focus on making a safe space for the youth to learn about and worship Jesus, while asking questions and building relationships with leaders and volunteers.

Programs include:

ARISE Ministry (grades 5-8)
During the school year, Jr. High students are welcome to join us for a bi-weekly evening program. Every other Friday night we drive through the North End, West End, and Weston/Central areas of Winnipeg, picking up youth. Once we get to our building, we enjoy a meal together, spend time worshipping Jesus, play a few games, and have a biblical teaching. At the end of the evening, each youth is dropped off back at their home.

Lunch Club

Tuesdays and Thursdays from September until June, youth from General Wolfe and Daniel Mcintyre are invited to our building on Burnell Street for a hot lunch. A short Bible teaching is given before lunch is eaten and as we share a meal together, staff and volunteers build relationships with the teens. This program provides an opportunity to get to know new teens, and invite them into our regular programs.

Weekend Camps

Twice during the school year we hold weekend camps for our youth. Our weekend camps are an opportunity to get away from the distractions and stress of the city to build on the foundations that have been laid during our regular programs, and to grow in community with one another.
