To the Valued Friends & Partners of LBE:
As an organization, we are following the advice from the City of Winnipeg that suggests “social distancing” and postponing non-essential activities.
The Annual General Meeting that was originally scheduled for Monday, March 16 is cancelled. In addition, we are cancelling all large group events, including RSK, ARISE and Teens. Please continue to pray for the health and safety of our community and our world.
This is not a call for panic or fear. In fact, it is the opposite. Canadians are being asked to help slow the spread of COVID-19 for the sake of protecting those at risk. Please remember to be kind to one another. Now is a great time to show love to our neighbors.
On the Government of Manitoba website, there are recommendations for each individual in Manitoba. Please stay informed and wash your hands frequently.
Strategies for all Manitobans:
- minimizing prolonged (more than 10 minutes), close (less than two meters/ six feet) contact between other individuals in public,
- avoiding greetings that involve touching such as handshakes
- disinfecting frequently used surfaces
- following public health advice related to self-monitoring and self-isolation if you have traveled or have been exposed to someone ill with the virus
- considering avoiding travel, crowded places and events, especially if you are at higher risk (e.g. seniors and those with underlying medical conditions)
