Teen Ministry
High School is a pivotal time in a young person’s life to keep kids connected and growing in their relationships with Christ. Living Bible Explorers’ Sr High programs provide a safe place for youth that are faced with many difficulties and challenges in today’s world. Those who live in the inner city are faced with the realities of gangs, substance abuse, self-harm, teen suicide, mental health issues, and pregnancy. Our program work to counteract these influences and share the truth of Jesus Christ and His changing power. The goal of teen programming is to disciple teens from adolescence into adulthood, and get them connected with the local church.
Programs include:
Senior High Ministry (grades 9-12)
During the school year, Senior High teens are invited to this bi-weekly evening program; between 50-60 teens are in attendance. Vehicles are sent out to pick up the teens from their homes, and are then brought back to our building. The evening includes games, praise and worship, Biblical teaching, prayer ministry, and a snack. Each teen is then dropped off at their home at the end of the evening.
Lunch Club
Tuesdays and Thursdays from September until June, teens from General Wolfe and Daniel Mcintyre are invited to our building on Burnell Street for a hot lunch. A short Bible teaching is given before lunch is eaten and as we share a meal together, staff and volunteers build relationships with the teens. This program provides an opportunity to get to know new teens, and invite them into our regular programs.
Weekend Camps
Twice during the school year we hold weekend camps for our teens. Our weekend camps are an opportunity for our teens to get away from the distractions and stress of the city to build on the foundations that have been laid during our regular programs, and to grow in community with one another. Activities include hiking, Bible teaching, praise and worship, crafts, sports, and other outdoor activities.
